This award which serves as a civilian commendation for social activity on behalf of Israeli society and the security of the State of Israel is given in recognition of my contribution and special activities for Israeli society and the security of the state thanks to leading the organization during challenging times especially during the brutal attack by terrorist organizations Hamas ISIS and Islamic Jihad on October 7th in the Gaza envelope. We invested significant efforts in supporting the brave fighters at the front lines assisting evacuees in need of our help and caring for discharged soldiers and war casualties. Additionally we initiated a social project to get to know the Bedouin community up close and to maintain good neighborly relations in the valley. Our activities do not stop; we continue to work energetically and proudly for the Bedouin fighters in Israel. In this emotional moment I want to express my deep gratitude to everyone who supported assisted and believed in our ability to bring about positive change in the Bedouin sector. Our organization is one of the leading military associations in the IDF. There are special individuals with golden hearts and wide smiles who were the pillars of support in this journey. shaped supported encouraged strengthened and embraced me from the moment I received the joyful news from the President. For those who do not know me my name is Amir Alheib and I am the chairman and founder of the Association for the Advancement of Bedouin Soldiers and Officers in the IDF which is one of the leading military associations in the country. This is the first Bedouin organization that proudly represents tens of thousands of Bedouin fighters and officers in regular service reserves and national service as well as discharged soldiers from the IDF and security forces. I myself am a former fighter and commander in the IDF a veteran of a combat unit for special missions in the Gaza Strip a war casualty from Operation Cast Lead an IDF orphan and a member of a family with deep roots in the military history of the State of Israel—from the establishment of the first combat Bedouin unit the Plahav in the Palmach during the War of Independence to fighting and commanding in the Shaked Reconnaissance Unit and leading the tracker unit in all of Israel's wars to date. My family the Alheib family has lost 59 fallen soldiers to date including three missing from the War of Independence and two from the helicopter disaster as well as two from the Iron Swords War and in the Katbam disaster at the Golani Brigade. The Bedouin community in Israel has suffered heavy losses since the beginning of the attack and during the Iron Swords War. Many Bedouin civilians have been murdered and kidnapped and 14 fallen soldiers have given their lives for the security and resilience of the State of Israel. Among them is a senior tracker a Bedouin hero of Israel who fell in the fierce battle over the Nahal Oz outpost and whose body was kidnapped by the Hamas terrorist organization during the murderous attack on October 7th in the Gaza envelope during the Iron Swords War. The Bedouin community is determined to continue contributing to the security and strength of the State of Israel. The alliance the path and the blood that have been shed together will continue to illuminate our way and the alliance will continue to strengthen live and exist for future generations.
